Iran films shine at Big Three in 2017

Iran films have received warm welcome at Academy Awards , Venice, and Cannes Film Festivals in 2017.

World most important film festivals cannot ignore Iranian film industry.  In 2017 Iranian films succeeded to attend Academy Awards (Oscar), Venice, and Cannes film festivals known as Big Three.

The salesman represented Iran at the 89th edition of Academy Awards Film Festival in 2017. It won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film.

The film tells the story of a young couple named Emad (Shahab Hosseini) and Rana (Taraneh Alidoosti) who move into a new flat in the center of Tehran. But an incident linked to the previous tenant dramatically changes their life.

The 70th edition of Cannes International Film Festival in France was world's second culminating film event in which Iran had a representative to attend in 2017.

 ’24 Frames’ by late Iranian director Abbas kiarostami went on screen at the internationally high ranking film event.

The 114-minute ‘24 Frames’ is an experimental project by Kiarostami in the last three years of his life. It is a collection of 24 four-and-a-half-minute films inspired by still images, including paintings and photographs.

The 74th   edition of Venice International Film Festival in Italy was world's 3rd Major film event that hosted an Iranian film.

 ‘No Date, No Signature’ directed by Vahid Jalilvand attended the event and succeeded to win Best Actor and Best Director Awards from the oldest film festival of the world.
